Lavender tides

About this piece

A collection of shells arranged on stretched canvas in lavender, blush pink, sea-glass blue, and soft periwinkle, set against a light lavender background. Each shell is hand-painted with artist-quality acrylics and placed by hand. The finished canvas sits in a coastal ivory wood frame built by my husband.

The shells carry the story. The oyster and quahog shells were legally harvested by my dad and his lifelong best friend from the shores of Falmouth, Massachusetts. The scallop shells were collected by my own family along the beaches of Juno Beach, Florida. Two coastlines in one piece.
